WIPO - University of Geneva Summer School on Intellectual Property (Geneva, June 24 to July 5, 2013)

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), together with the University of Geneva, will organize a two-weeks WIPO-University of Geneva Summer School on Intellectual Property (Geneva, 24 June-5 July 2013). The Summer School takes place during the first week (24-28 June) at the WIPO headquarters, and during the second week (1-5 July) at Unimail, in the premises of the University of Geneva Law School. The Summer School is open to�50 senior students (graduate and postgraduate students) and young professionals from any field of study or discipline (from law to economics, from engeneering and interpretation).

The Summer School offers an invaluable education program in the whole area of intellectual property (IP). Selected applicants will be notified one week after registration deadline.

1.Summer School�Objective:

The Summer School offers an invaluable education program in the whole area of intellectual property (IP). Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for advanced students or young professionals to acquire deeper knowledge of IP, and to gain an appreciation of IP as a tool for economic, social, cultural and technological development and the role WIPO plays in the global administration of IP.

2. Program:

The Summer School program covers all main areas of IP (namely, patent law, trademarks, designs and copyright) through a pragmatic, interactive approach. Lecturers are intellectual property experts at WIPO, the University of Geneva, or other institutions. See the program here.

3. Eligibility Requirements:

Participation is not limited to Law students. Students in other fields are also encouraged to apply.

Proficiency in English is required. Selected students will be required to participate in an on-line distance-learning course offered by the WIPO Academy before the Summer School begins.

4. Application and registration:

� 4.1 Standard conditions (registration fees)

Applicants wishing to take part to the summer school under standard conditions (with registration fees) must apply on line by March 30, 2013, following the instructions here. �

4.2 Free-of-charge participation for five University of Geneva students

Five currently-enrolled University of Geneva students will be selected to participate in the summer school at no charge.

Applicants should send their r�sum�/curriculum vitae together with a letter of motivation (written in English and giving reasons why they wish to apply for the Summer School and what they hope to gain from it) by email to the Secretariat of the D�partement de droit commercial (),�by March 30, 2013.
